Human Rights talks in the Chapel

Being held during the Sunday Choral Evensong services, the talks will cover a diverse range of issues around social, spiritual, religious and cultural aspects of human rights.

According to College Chaplain Samuel Dow, ‘the Chaplaincy team decided it would be timely for us to bring into the public conversation more about human rights – particularly through our Chapel series where we can invite a variety of voices to contribute in reflecting on multiple aspects of the issues’.

‘These talks couldn't be more important in our current political climate of Australia, where society is becoming increasingly aware of the rights of all people, but the work being still far from complete,’ says Samuel.

‘In the Christian context, Jesus calls us to be advocates of change for the sake of God’s kingdom – a kingdom where justice, peace and love are in abundance for all.’

A number of speakers will offer valuable contributions to this discussion.

All are welcome to join us for this important series in the context of Choral Evensong.
