Applications are now open for the AGL Shaw Postgraduate Scholarship to the University of Oxford for the academic year commencing September 2016.
The annual scholarship of $45,000 AUD is for tuition, residential and living costs.
The scholarship will be awarded to an alumnus of Trinity College who is a graduate of the University of Melbourne.
The successful candidate will have been accepted into a postgraduate course at the University of Oxford. (Preference will be given to students of history, with further weight given if the student is or will be a member of Christ Church.)
Applications in writing to the Deputy Warden of the College, Campbell Bairstow, must be received by 1 June 2016. Applications should describe the intended or present course of study at Oxford, the status of application procedures if relevant, and the applicant’s financial circumstances.

A Fellow of Trinity College, alumnus (TC 1935) and Dean (1922–1951), Professor AGL Shaw was a Professor of History at Monash University. After graduating from The University of Melbourne in 1937, he continued his studies at Christ Church, Oxford, graduating with First Class Honours. He retained a strong affection both for Christ Church and for Trinity throughout his life.
