AGL Shaw Postgraduate Scholarship

Professor AGL Shaw, an alum, Fellow of Trinity College, and Dean (1922–51) was a Professor of History at Monash University. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1937, he continued his studies at Christ Church College, Oxford, where he graduated with first class honours. He retained a strong affection both for Christ Church and Trinity College throughout his life.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • be an alumni of Trinity College and a graduate of the University of Melbourne
  • be accepted into a postgraduate course at the University of Oxford, with preference given to students of history accepted into Christ Church College.

Value and duration

  • One scholarship valued at $52,000 per annum to assist with residential and living costs during a postgraduate course, renewable for up to three years.
  • One scholarship valued at $29,000 per annum to assist with residential and living costs during a postgraduate course, renewable for up to three years.

What next?

Applications should include proof of admission to Oxford, a detailed description of the studies to be undertaken, and evidence of personal circumstances, including finances, which may demonstrate the merit and timeliness of scholarship support.
