Trinity's new gifted artworks

Judge Peter Gebhardt (TC 1955), long-time friend and supporter of the Indigenous programs at Trinity College, has made a generous gift of 10 Indigenous paintings by artists from the Utopia community in the Northern Territory, north-east of Alice Springs.

Utopian artists have achieved broad recognition in both Australian and international art circles, with artists such as Emily Kame Kngwarreye gaining global recognition for her distinctive art works.

The donated series of paintings, including several works by members of the Kngwarreye and Kemarre families, depict scenes of hunting, traditional camp and ceremonial life.

The paintings are a very welcome addition to the College's significant and growing Indigenous art collection.
