Shaping the future

Over the mid-year break, resident student Imogen Smith-Waters (2nd year Arts) travelled to Mexico for a Universitas 21 conference.

The theme of this year's conference was Shaping the future global Entrepreneur, with delegates attending from more than 15 countries. The format consisted of a series of lectures and small group activities.

‘We learnt really practical skills about how to plan, organise, manage and market products and services in today's global marketplace’ said Imogen.

‘We were assigned teams on the first day and worked with people from all over the world and developed a product, business model and marketing materials for our newly created product.

'The conference was open to students from all different disciplines, which meant that the ideas we came up with were really diverse, as each person had a different skillset and varied insights to share – it was a fantastic opportunity!' she said.
