New chamber choir emerges

A group of Trinity alumni choristers have formed a new chamber choir, Polyphonic Voices, under the artistic direction of ex-Trinity director of music, Michael Fulcher.

‘The aim of this choir is to use all we learnt during our time in the amazing choir at Trinity to bring amazing choral experiences to Melbourne,' chorister Thomas Bland (TC 2009) said.

'We are under the patronage of ex-Trinity Chaplain, Andreas Loewe and ex-Trinity Director of Music, Michael Leighton Jones. The Trinity connections abound.'

The new choir includes both Trinity alumni and non-Trinity singers.

Along with several other Polyphonic Voices singers, Thomas was a member of the Trinity College Choir for 4 years whilst living in residential College.

Fittingly, Polyphonic Voices will perform their first concert, Songs of Farewell, on 16 May at the Trinity College Chapel. The concert will commemorate 100 years since the beginning of World War I (particularly appropriate given the chapel is a memorial for the lives that were lost during this time).
