Alumnus to help organise B20

Alumnus Robbie Tilleard (TC 2005) has been seconded from The Boston Consulting Group to help organise the Business 20 (B20), an event which is part of the G20 Summit.

The B20 will gather Australian business leaders to discuss G20 policy agenda, recommendations and economic growth strategies for 2014, during which Australia will host and assume presidency of the G20.

‘My interest is in three areas: communities, the power of quality economic growth to create opportunity and the continuing project of reform in Australia,’ Robbie said.

‘The B20 straddles both the public sector and business, and is an excellent opportunity to combine my three interest areas.’

Robbie is currently a Senior Associate at The Boston Consulting Group. He has previously worked in the Victorian public service, with Indigenous communities in North-East Arnhem Land and Cape York and for Non Government Organisations overseas in Ghana and Vietnam.

This next role is in Sydney, where Robbie will work directly with business leaders such as CEO of Wesfarmers, Richard Goyder.

‘I’d advise current students to apply themselves at University and really engage with a breadth of experiences. There are countless opportunities to grasp leadership roles, have a positive impact and illustrate personal character and values. Engage with University, talk to your professors after class and be curious. It is a tough market these days, so don't be complacent.’
