Trinity is proud of its heritage and its contribution to the education of many influential graduates from the University of Melbourne and other tertiary institutions in Australia.
The College captures specific details about the history of the University and College, personalities, events, as well as maps and plans of the College buildings and grounds.
Archives in the collection
Trinity's Archives comprise of the following main types of materials:
- College documents, publications and records, including student records
- items from private collections of prominent individuals with a connection to Trinity.
Under privacy laws, records can only be accessed by those with permission to use the Archives.
Accessing the archives
*PLEASE NOTE - due to the forthcoming collection storage relocation to the College's new Gateway Building, public access to archival material will be temporarily unavailable for at least an eight week period during July and August 2016. The Archivist will respond to all enquiries during this time. Image requests for material already digitised will also not be affected during this time.
Current and former students and staff and other researchers may use the collection with prior permission from Trinity's Archivist. As a condition of access, all those who use the Archives are required to acknowledge Trinity College.
